Doppelganger

When I went back home in 2002, it was time for the placement announcement for first trimester for elementary students. My little brother was in elementary school, and so I took my mom's place and went with him to take his exam result back.

It was nostalgic. My teachers were still teaching (people do not switch career back home). Some of my friends took up teaching. The classroom did not change much. Children were running everywhere and playing the games I used to play. It felt like I was thrown back a decade or two.

Then it was time for the general assembly. Every students and teachers were gathered in a big room for placement announcement. My school have a tradition of announcing the first, second, and third placement for each class in front of a general assembly.

I can't remember what my little bro's placement were. But the thing that surprised me was during the announcement for 2nd grade placements. The third place was won by a person with the exact same first name and last name as me. My teachers turned their heads toward me, and I was going "Whoa! It can't be me! Whatcha looking at?" And a little girl ran forward with pride.

She is not exactly my double. But she went to my elementary school. She was in my high school. She also goes to my church back home. I am going home in a month. I am looking forward to meet this girl who shares my name.

about doppelganger, surprisingly, I just watched an interesting movie on the plane, "Anna & Anna" (http://www.lovehkfilm.com/panasia/anna_and_anna.htm)

It's a complicated movie that requires some thinking, but I stayed watching the whole move because the actress is pretty cute :)

On Lying..

Lifehacker shows up with an article titled " How to Be an Effective Liar ". One comment cracks me up.. When I was a kid, I learned pretty quickly that the best way to lie is to tell the truth, but embellish it so much that it won't be believed.   "Did you have a party while your mother and I were gone?"   "Oh yeah! You missed out. It started out fairly small, but by the end, E! News showed up and the Goodyear blimp did a couple of flyovers. Luckily, Martha Stewart got the ankle tracker off, so she came out and helped us clean up afterwards. I'll make sure we take pictures next time." Hahaha.. ^_^

On Typing...

Does people realize that: 1. misspelling a word makes them look uneducated, and 2. using shorthand in emails makes them look 5 ?? Emails are NOT telegrams! You cannot save money by typing less characters in your emails, people! (I can understand if it's in SMS). Ugh! (Just have to vent...) >_<

Worried

I know intellectually that worry solves nothing. But I am worried. About the things that are out of my hands. And I am sad, because it involves people, and I can't do anything about it. I am starting to believe that helplessness is the root of all worries. Hhhh...
