Amigurumi: Mario Bros Mushroom

I found out that I had a stash of acrylic yarns left (in the storage), and so I was looking around for patterns/stuff I can use them for. I ended up finding Amigurumi, and of course the pattern I wanted uses the colors of yarns I did not already have. I ended up buying another stash of acrylic yarns in different colors. Thankfully, Zellers had it on sale.

In any case, my first Amigurumi project was the Mario Bros Mushroom. I found out (too late), that I was doing the red part wrong. I crocheted from the back loop only, instead of from both loop. Hence, the "head" is taller than it's supposed to be. But since I didn't realize it until after the head was completed, I decided to leave it as it was.

Mushy

I gave this one to Chris, just because he wanted one. This became another addition to his "work buddies", as you can see below.

Chris's "Work Buddies"

But bad Chris! He made Mushy to be the bad guy (I think).

Chris called this scene "Revenge of the Fallen"

Hahaha... Although I think Mushy is too cute to be evil, I am happy Chris is having so much fun with his buddies.

Anyway, kalo kau sudah foto yang lain, I'll add them here so you can know what I think. ^_^
Huahahaha..

It's sooo cute. Good joB!!! Quite impressive, given the short period of time. And no, it didn't look weird at all. ^_^

And wow.. cecang, you've added three more toy buddies since the last time I was there. The transformer toys are new, right? How about the other actions heroes? Just sitting on the shelf upstairs? Forgotten?

they are way too powerful compare to the ones on my desk. Not good if they got into fight when I am not there :)
Huahaha.

I guess you need to put on monitor camera on them. In case they misbehaved. Hahaha.
Need my help to discipline them? :p

Myth or ?

Now that my daughter hits 10 month mark, she starts to move more actively around. She doesn't quite walk yet, but she tries. Her feet don't move one in front of the other, but her whole body make a "jump" to compensate. As such, she fell and hit her head. A part of her forehead was swollen. And when we called our family, the single advice that everyone gave us was: Rub oil on it, and then rub a knife on it. This was totally the way we were brought up. I remember seeing an adult rubbing the swollen part of a child's head with knife. It works too! But it makes me wonder... Why does it work? Do we still have to do that nowadays?

On Lying..

Lifehacker shows up with an article titled " How to Be an Effective Liar ". One comment cracks me up.. When I was a kid, I learned pretty quickly that the best way to lie is to tell the truth, but embellish it so much that it won't be believed.   "Did you have a party while your mother and I were gone?"   "Oh yeah! You missed out. It started out fairly small, but by the end, E! News showed up and the Goodyear blimp did a couple of flyovers. Luckily, Martha Stewart got the ankle tracker off, so she came out and helped us clean up afterwards. I'll make sure we take pictures next time." Hahaha.. ^_^

On Typing...

Does people realize that: 1. misspelling a word makes them look uneducated, and 2. using shorthand in emails makes them look 5 ?? Emails are NOT telegrams! You cannot save money by typing less characters in your emails, people! (I can understand if it's in SMS). Ugh! (Just have to vent...) >_<
